CleanWatch for iPhone & iPad
Privacy policy
Updated September 14, 2026
CleanWatch is developed by Thomas Kackley, operating as iOSDeveloperGuy. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and contact us for support.
Information handled by CleanWatch
You do not need a separate CleanWatch account. The app stores preferences, such as your enhancement settings and whether you have completed the welcome screen, on your device. It does not send those preferences to a developer-operated account or analytics service.
The app does not include a developer-operated advertising or behavioral analytics service. This does not mean that the websites and other services you access through the app collect no information.
Video websites and sign-in
CleanWatch displays YouTube and YouTube Music in an embedded web browser. Your device connects directly to those services and their content providers. Requests may include your IP address, browser and device information, searches, videos you open, and interactions with the website. These sites may use cookies, local storage, and other website data.
If you sign into a Google account inside a website, Google handles that sign-in and may associate your activity with your account. CleanWatch does not ask you to create or send us a copy of your Google password. Google’s handling of this information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Enhancement services
When sponsor skipping is enabled, the app requests segment information from SponsorBlock. When dislike counts are enabled, it requests count information from Return YouTube Dislike. These requests include the identifier of the video being viewed. As with other direct internet connections, the receiving service also receives your IP address and request information.
Sponsor skipping and dislike counts are enabled by default. Sponsor skipping does not require a subscription. Changing these enhancement settings requires Premium, which is currently offered in the United States, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. These independent services process information under their own policies.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes in-app purchases. CleanWatch uses Apple’s StoreKit services to check your subscription status and enable purchased features. The app receives transaction and entitlement information needed for that purpose; we do not receive your payment card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account. Deleting CleanWatch does not cancel a subscription.
Support and this website
If you contact us, we receive the contact information, message, and attachments you choose to provide. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, and keep a record of the issue. Our email and support providers process these communications to deliver that service. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or private viewing information that is unnecessary to your request.
When you visit this website or follow a support link, the hosting or support service receives normal connection information, such as your IP address and the page requested, to deliver and secure the service.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can change available enhancement preferences in Settings and sign out of websites from their account menus. Removing the app removes its local app data from that device; copies in device backups and information retained by third-party services are handled separately. Use the relevant provider’s account controls to manage or delete information stored with that provider.
To ask about, correct, or request deletion of support information you sent us, email thomas@iosdeveloperguy.com. We retain support correspondence as needed to handle the request and related service records, and where required by law. We cannot delete information held independently by Google, Apple, or another provider.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or its services change. The date above identifies the latest version. For privacy questions, contact Thomas Kackley at thomas@iosdeveloperguy.com.
